The Year of the Dog Event

A Lucky Dog hosted an elegant evening with the Friends of San Francisco Animal Care and Control to celebrate the Chinese "Year of the Dog".

Attendees enjoyed award-winning dim sum vegetarian and fish delicacies in a relaxed, open-seating banquet at Yank Sing Restaurant inside San Francisco's historic Rincon Center. Yank Sing borders a huge atrium under an 80-foot-high skylight. A dramatic column of rain in the center gently descends from the skylight to the atrium floor, setting a relaxed mood.

"The Year of the Dog" comes only once every 12 years, so A Lucky Dog took this opportunity to help the Friends of San Francisco Animal Care and Control (FSFACC) raise funds for the city's open-door municipal animal shelter.

The banquet also featured a traditional Chinese Lion Dance, the Walter Earl Jazz Trio, no-host bar, Chinese "take-out" gift boxes, and deluxe silent auction. Lucky auction bidders nabbed weekend getaways, valuable art works and fine dining for two.

San Francisco children's book author Oliver Chin signed copies of his new book "The Year of the Dog," benefiting FSFACC.
