Q: How do I contact you?

A: Our 24-hour phone number for general information is 1-866-GO-LUCKY. You can reach us anytime, day or night while we're caring for your pup. For more information, Contact Us.
Q: How can I be sure that my home and my dogs are safe when I'm not home once I've hired a pet sitter from A Lucky Dog?

A: You can rest assured that the team at A Lucky Dog care a great deal about the safety and security of your home and your canine companion. We are bonded and insured, and proud members of Pet Sitters International. We follow a Code of Ethics that represents the highest standards of ethical behavior and humane attitudes towards animals. Not to mention the fact that we are dog owners and dog lovers ourselves!
Q: What if there is an emergency with my dog while I'm away on vacation?

A: A Lucky Dog maintains up-to-date information on 24-hour emergency animal hospitals in our service area. Before your departure your pet-sitter will prepare an information file on your dog which includes telephone numbers where you can be reached, the name of your Veterinarian, and notes on all other pertinent information that you would like us to know in case of an emergency.
Q: My dog is aggressive towards other dogs, how many dogs go out in a group at one time?

A: Dogs show signs of aggression by growling, lunging, snapping, assuming an upright posture, and/or showing their teeth. Some are aggressive out of fear, others may be territorial (particularly the working breeds). A Lucky Dog can take groups of six dogs out at one time, taking into consideration each dog's personality. If your dog is not well socialized with other dogs or other people we do not recommend a group outing. An aggressive dog can be a danger to other dogs in the pack who are out to have a fun time. A professional obedience class may be the perfect answer to help curb unwanted behavior. Although it is always best to teach a puppy early in life the benefits of getting along with others, an older dog can be taught to make friends as well. Ask about A Lucky Dog's Training and Behavior Counseling Courses personally designed for your dog.
Q: Can I be assured the same Dog Walker/Pet Sitter each time?

A: We prefer to keep the same team member assigned to your account each time, however if that individual is not available, a fully trained and informed replacement will be available for backup.
Q: How do you choose your Professional Handlers?

A: A Lucky Dog's main priority is the safety and security of our clients, their pets and their homes. All new potential hires undergo an extensive screening process including criminal background checks, personal reference checks and past employment history. We seek individuals who are experienced with animals, possess excellent customer service skills and show a true dedication to this profession.
